Frequently Asked Questions
What is an SVG?
SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic which is just a fancy name for the standard file type that most cutting machines use. It is much better than JPGs or PNGs because it can contain multiple layers and can be resized without getting pixelated.
This would be a big investment for me. Is it really worth the price?
I am a notoriously horrible sales person. I refuse to try to sell anything I don't whole heartily believe in even if it would make me extra money, so I 100% believe that this membership is worth even MORE than it costs.
Why did I choose this price then? I wanted to create a membership that was affordable to any motivated people who really want to learn how to create their own SVGs. Considering that most of us (myself included) have gone to the craft store and spent more than this on supplies that will get used up, spending money to learn skills that you'll continue to use over and over is a much better investment!
I mean, think about it. Each month, you can buy a few less coffee drinks or bring lunch to work a few days and you will save more than this membership costs in no time! In return, you will gain the skills to save money from buying SVGs from Etsy or wasting supplies on disappointing designs, etc.
In fact, with these new skills you could even create an Etsy shop or handmade business with your custom SVG creations to MAKE money. I've seen SVG shops that have made over 95,000 sales and price their SVGs at $3 each - that's $285,000!
Why are these courses better than YouTube videos?
While it is awesome that there are so many tutorials available for free on YouTube, it is also a double-edged sword because they can often be outdated, poor quality and leave a question in the comments it is typically met with *crickets*. I truly believe that this membership is far better than YouTube videos for a few main reasons:
1. It is a comprehensive course with high-quality content all in one place. (You likely don't even know what to search to find all the different skills on YouTube)
2. The courses are thoughtfully planned and outlined for beginners to build each new skill on each other while Youtube videos are fragmented and incomplete.
3. You are guaranteed to actually get replies to questions you have about any course content you are struggling with. We've got a secret Facebook group, regular office hours where I offer 1:1 help and course forums where you can post questions and browse those others have had.
Does the membership include commercial use SVG files?
Yes, I am VERY excited to announce that we recently added a section to our members-only library that contains over 350 commercial use SVG files!
Yep, you read that right. That is a $900+ value compared to buying them on Etsy, which more than pays for the membership on its own! Click here to review the terms of our commercial use license SVGs.
Do I need any expensive design software to create SVGs?
Heck no! Our course teaches you how to use Inkscape which is the MOST underrated design software out there. It is 100% free to use and is compatible with both Mac and PC computers. I have tried out many different design software options and Inkscape does all the same essential skills and in some cases it does them better than the expensive options.
You will need computer access to take advantage of our courses though, so I don't recommend enrolling if you only have an iPad or mobile device.
Is this membership only for Cricut users?
Nope! The majority of the membership content is about learning to create SVGs in Inkscape which can be used with almost all cutting machine brands (Silhouette, Cricut, Scan N Cut, etc.) Plus, if you end up switching brands of machine down the road, you'll save yourself a HUGE headache because you can still use those SVGs and design skills you learned in Inkscape regardless of your brand of machine!
But we didn't stop there... while we highly recommend Inkscape for the majority of designing needs because of it's versatility and awesome capabilities, we still want our members to feel comfortable using the design programs that come with their machine. That's why we've also included in the membership courses on all the design programs for Cricut, Silhouette, and Scan N Cut users for FREE! What a deal, right?!
We have the Design Space Course for Cricut users, Silhouette Studio Course for Cameo users, and the Canvas Workspace Course for Brother Scan N Cut users... nobody is left out :)
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
We're so sure you are going to love this course and membership that we are happy to offer a 7-day satisfaction guarantee! If you try out the course and are not seeing results, then email [email protected] within 7 days of signing up for a full refund :)
Please keep in mind that you will lose access to all content upon asking for a refund including rights to commercial use SVG files. Also, if you select the payment plan option, you are responsible for completing all payments if you do not cancel your membership during the 7 day satisfaction guarantee time period.
Are there any hidden monthly or annual fees to stay a member?
Nope! We're not a fan of hidden fees :) Everything mentioned is included in the one time fee of $197 or 5 monthly payments of $47!
When we first launched the membership, I explored doing recurring monthly and annual fees, but I decided the best way to set students up for success so they’re not rushing through the courses or cutting corners is to give unlimited access so that’s why I’ve set it up this way. Plus, this makes it much easier to plan your budget.
Are the workbooks available for download?
Yes! You will have access to download the PDF workbooks from our membership portal once you join! Since we have members all over the world and many people want to get started right away, we chose to have them available as digital downloads instead of shipping physical copies. They are also fillable PDFs that you can type directly in to to take notes and search to find what you are looking for - super handy!
