Try turning off snapping and see if that helps. You do so by turning off the button in the upper right corner in the right toolbar that is a blue and green node with an arrow in between (at the very top)
Hmm I am not quite clear on what you mean. Feel free to send me a screenshot and I will help you troubleshoot. Is it just that you don’t have a fill color selected?
Hello, When adjusting the nodes mine keeps saying Handle to smooth with a cross on the node. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

when try to make a rectangle it does the dotted outline but does not stay the shape of a rectangle and does not stay on the screen
