      It’s the same concept as in this lesson https://members.svgandme.com/topic/text-glyphs/ but this is on a Mac since that’s what I have.    I have installed 2 dingbat fonts on my computer with inkscape closed but they won’t show up in inkscape. Do you know a solution

      Try right clicking on the font file and click “install for all users”
