Pros:
- Automatically traces the image without any need to adjust settings (# of scans, speckles, etc)
- Great results! (sometimes better than Inkscape)
- Free to use (at least for now)
Cons:
- Requires cleanup of extra “outline” layers before it’s a usable SVG file
- Can’t customize # of scans/colors to simplify your SVG
- Only groups objects of same color so need to select and Path > Union to combine into a single layer (this could also be a pro in some cases)
- Must manually delete the background
I just went to try vectorizer.ai and it is requiring a subscription to download anything. So I don’t think it is free.
Oh darn it looks like they just updated from free to paid! I mention in the video I was worried that would happen soon :/
